When I think about Singapore in South East Asia, I don’t think about a typical Asian culture but more about a modern city. Visiting this place for just 2 days was enough time to explore all these activities in Singapore. I didn’t plan to go to this city but I had a transfer and I am glad I took the time to discover this place! I will share the things to do in Singapore in 2 days, feel free to add this to your Singapore itinerary for 2 days ;).
Things to do in Singapore in 2 days – Singapore itinerary for 2 days
Day 1 – Tick off the main attractions
1. Have breakfast at trendy cafe Common Man Coffee Roasters
How to start your day better than with a great breakfast! This place has a lot of loyal customers and it’s always crowded, but don’t worry you will get a seat.
On their menu are a lot of all day breakfast options and they serve amazing coffee. I love the iterior of this place which is modern and you will see a lot of hand cratfed furniture.
Are you looking for a filling breakfast? Go for the Brioche French Toast! Now your tummy is filled, you’re ready to continue all the activities in Singapore!
2. Wander around Gardens by the Bay
For first-timers in Singapore, this activity can’t miss in your Singapore itinerary for 2 days. Did you know that Gardens by the Bay is a nature park spanning 101 hectares in the centre of Singapore? Before my visit, I just thought about the supertrees when I heard the name Gardens by the Bay. I didn’t know this place was this big!
Gardens by the Bay arent’s just gardens there are a lot of activities in and around this place. The gardens are dived into 3 different areas: Bay South Garden, Bay East Garden and Bay Central Garden.
Flower Dome & Cloud Forest
This place is located in Bay South Garden and was the biggest glass greenhouse in 2015. It is home to different kind of plants and flowers from 5 continents.
Just 1 minute from the Flower Dome you will find the Cloud Forest where you can walk around at different levels of hights.
To enter these two places you need a ticket. The price for 1 conservatory is 12S$, for two you will pay 28S$. The place is opened from 9am – 9pm.
Supertree Grove & OCBC Skywalk
The Supertrees was one of my favourite activities in Singapore and they are located just next to Marina Bay Sands. The supertrees are between 25-50 metres tall and at the largest tree is a bar and a walkway where you walk 20 meters above the ground between the supertrees.
By day you can just stroll around this place and by night this place comes alive as you will find thousends of lights up against the trees.
Tip: At this place will be a light and music show every day between 7:45pm – 8:45pm and it’s totally free. The best place ot watch it is under the Supertrees. You won’t regret adding this to your “things to do in Singapore in 2 days list”!
The entree for the Supertree Grove is free but if you want to enter the OCBC Skywalk it will costs 8S$.
If you want to visit all three of these places it will be cheaper to buy a combi ticket for Flower Dome, Cloud Forest and the OCBC Skywalk for 32S$
3. Bring a visit to the Bonatic Gardens
This 85 hectare Botanic Garden is in one word amazing! It’s open from 5am to 12 midnight daily. This tropical greenery an UNESCO World Heritage site and is 161 years old.
Don’t forget to bring you camera to this place. You won’t regret to add this activity to your Singapore itinerary for 2 days!
Location: 1 Cluny Rd, Singapore 259569
Opening times: 5am – midnight
4. Discover Marina Bay Sands
This place is located next to the supertrees, you can just walk to here within 10 minutes. I guess you already heard of the Marina Bay Sands Hotel before visiting Singapore. This place is nowadays a real icon of Singapore. The hotel has the worlds largest rooftop infinity pool, unfortunely only accessible for hotel guests.
Do you want to stay in this hotel? A standard room costs between 300 – 500S$. For me, this was too much during my backpack trip but if you have the money I guess it will be worth it ;).
If you aren’t a hotel guest, you are allowed to go up to the 57th level to watch the amazing view from the observation desk. My advise is to buy a ticket on forehand to skip the line.
Tip: Every day there will be an amazing 15-minute lightshow from the rooftop of this hotel. The best place to watch it is at the Event Plaza in front of the Shoppe. The show starts at 8pm and 9:30pm, one of the best activities in Singapore!
I loved to just walk around the Marina Bay to see the Marina Bay Sands Hotel from a distance (see photo below).
BOOK YOUR TICKET: Observation Desk at the Marina Bay Sands
5. Have some drinks at Ce LA VI (Marina Bay Sands Hotel) rooftop bar
This is one of the things to do in Singapore in 2 days I liked the most! Ce La Vi is the restaurant and skybar of the Marina Bay Sands Hotel. Let me warn you first, this place isn’t cheap but so worth it!
The club lounge is located on the 57th floor in the hotel on the same floor as the infinity pool. But don’t think you can swim in the pool, as just a visitor you don’t have access to the pool area only the Ce La Vie Rooftop bar with amazing DJ’s
Don’t want to party all night long? Just grab a cocktail with an amazing view of Singapore.
Location: 1 Bayfront Avenue Hotel Tower 3, Level 57 Marina Bay Sands, SkyPark 018971
Opening times: Sunday – Tuesday 12pm – 4am / Wednesday – Saturday 12pm – 4am
Entrance Fee: 20S$
Day 2 – Explore different areas
6. Visit Chinatown
I loved adding this to my Singapore itinerary for 2 days because Chinatown is such a contrast with the city. You will find just low rise buildings, smells of the Chinese cuisine and a lot of red gold decoration.
Are you into temples? Visit the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and the Sri Mariamman Temple, they are amazing to take picutres of!
Do you want to see Chinatown from above? Go to the The Pinnacle @Duxton Skybridge, it’s the tallest building around and you only pay 5S$ to enter. This place is also very quiet so it’s perfect for some nice shots!
BOOK A TOUR: China town 2,5 hours walking tour
7. Visit Little India
Little India one of my favourite activities in Singapore because it doesn’t feel like you are in Singapore anymore! It is located east of the Singapore River, just across from Chinatown. So these neighbourhoods are perfect to combine in one day.
In this area you will find authentic Indian food, Hindu temples, spice shops, markets and a lot of colourful wares. I suggest to visit at least the Sri Veeramakaliamman Temple (hard to pronounce right?;)). It’s the prettiest and busiest temple of Little India.
There is also a great walking tour to discover Little India with a guide in just 2,5 hours.
BOOK A TOUR: Little India 2,5 hours walking tour
8. Have lunch at Positano Risto at Haji Lane
We are now heading to the Haji Lane which is just 14 minutes walk from Little India. Before exploring this road/area it’s a great time to enjoy a lunch first between all the activities on the list of “things to do in Singapore in 2 days”.
Positano Risto is just amazing! I was so surprised by the quality and taste of the food that I have to mention them! At this place they don’t serve alcohol and they work with fresh ingredients.
It’s a Muslim owned Italian restaurant, you won’t regret a visit at this place!
9. Visit the Historic Shophouses at Haji Lane (Kampong Glam)
After your graet meal, Haji Lane is a perfect 3rd stop after Chinatwon and Little India.
Haji Lane is one of the hottest spots in the city. You will find a lot of boutique shops, colourful streets and hip cafes. Many tourists just visit this place to make the best Instagram shot. I can tell you, you want to make a lot of pictures at this place.
The main things to do at Haji Lane are: shopping at Haji Lane, check out the wallarts, visit the hip cafes and check out Masjid Sultan. Masjid Sultan is one of the most important mosques of Singapore. If you go there, just stop at Muscat Street as well. You can make a photo of one of the most beautiful building in the city.
10. End your trip with a dinner at Stellar at 1-Altitude
Steller is located in the center of Singapore and is just an amazing place located at the 62nd floor. It’s a lovely place to have a panoramic dining experience. You will have a view of the Marina Bay and and the Singapore Flyer at distance.
The food together with this amazing view (look at the picture below) was the perfect ending of my trip in Singapore! Adding this to the end of your Singaore itinerary for 2 days will be perfect!
I didn’t had enough time to do the following activities but if you have more time take a look at the following things to do:
Bring a visit to the Universal Studios at Sentosa Island, the Singapore Zoo, do a night safari, visit Clarke quay, go shopping at Orchard Road, visit the Fort Canning Park and bring visit the Thian Hock Keng Temple.
