Paris in France is one of the most romantic cities in the world. Whether you are visiting Paris with your boy/girlfriend or with friends, there are plenty of ways to fall in love with this city.
I visited Paris 4 times, the first time with my school, the second time with my (ex) boyfriend, the third time with friends and the fourth time alone. Can you imagine these trips were all so different from each other! I saw this city from different kinds of perspectives and this made me figure out the best places to visit in Paris in 2 days. Read on and take a look at my Paris 2 day itinerary!
Places to visit in Paris in 2 days
Day 1 – My Paris 2 day itinerary
Go early to Basilica Sacre-Coeur and enjoy the view
Do you want to avoid the crowds and take some nice photos? Go early (around 8 AM) to this basilica on top of the hill in the artist area Montmartre. You will enjoy a panoramic view over the whole city!
The Sacre Coeur is open form 6AM to 10:30PM and you can visit this place for free!
Visit the Sinking House (next to the Sacre-Coeur)
Next to the Sacre-Coeur on top of the hill you will find this house. It looks like it’s sinking into the ground. Of course, it’s not real and designed for a fun visual trick.
Wander around the artist area: Montmartre
Are you done visiting the Sacre-Coeur? Go explore this amazing area of Paris: Montmartre! The area is becoming each year a more popular place.
By wandering around this area you will find a lot of art influences, for example, the influence of Picasso and Van Gogh is something you will find in this area.
In the town of Montmartre are lot’s of cute shops and French restaurants and my advice is to spend the rest of your afternoon to discover all of them!
Tip: Go to the little square in the heart of this area and let someone draw a portrait!
Go to the Pigalle neighborhood – Moulin Rouge
From Montmartre follow the road downwards to Pigalle where you can find the Moulin Rouge. It’s one of the most famous cabaret shows in the world!
Do you have enough time? Plan to visit one of these shows!
Day 2 – My Paris 2 day itinerary – The highlights
Visit the Eiffel tower (of course!)
If you are in Paris for the first time, this should be your priority! How could you come to Paris and not go up the famous Eiffel Tower? You can’t right? ;).
Every year around 7 million people visit the Eiffeltower and most of them go up to the first two levels where there are shops and restaurants. The third level is the highest possible level and worth a visit!
To visit the tower during your 2 days in Paris you can buy tickets at the counter or online for around €35
Tip: grab a lunch in the streets around the Eiffeltower or enjoy a picknick on one of the fields.
BUY YOUR TICKETS: Paris Eiffel Tower Stair Climb to Floor 2 (€34)
Walk to Arc de Triomphe
From the Eiffeltower you can walk in 30 minutes (or take the metro) along the Seine River and spot the Pont Alexandre III bride. This is one of the most beautiful bridges I have seen!
Walk across this bridge towards the Arc de Triomphe. Don’t forget to make a nice shot at this place and to visit the Champs Elysees.
GET YOUR TICKETS: Paris: Skip-the-Line Arc de Triomphe Rooftop Tickets (€13)
Visit the Louvre Museum
Did you know the Louvre Museum is the most visited museum in the world? It’s the world’s largest art museum and a historic monument in Paris. Definitely one of the cultural places to visit in Paris in 2 days.
At this place you will find the Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa. The best way to visit this place is with an audio guide.
GET YOUR TICKETS: Paris Louvre Museum: Priority Entrance with Audio Guide (€39)
